About the Role

Evolution Mining is maturing its finance and commercial functions across the group. We have four mining assets in Australia and one in Canada. Across these mining assets, the finance & commercial functions work in different ways and use disparate systems and processes. The finance & commercial function vision is to be trusted partners providing excellent service and support, enabling the business to create value and manage risk.

The Business Analyst will assist the Improvements Lead with the delivery of interrelated projects that will support maturing the capability, efficiency and effectiveness of the finance team. This role is responsible for identifying areas of improvement in Evolution’s current business processes.

This will include:

conducting process reviews to document ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ process workflows,
developing and implementing new strategies and technologies,
collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment,
supporting successful adoption of the new procedures,
conduct performance assessments to ensure the effectiveness of the new processes, and
provide training and support to the team members, to ensure that the best practices are followed.

Some key deliverables will include:

Analysing current business processes, workflows and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
Analyse data to prioritise areas to focus on.
Map processes to identify obstacles, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Create process documentation and guidelines, including standard operating procedures, policies and workflow diagrams.
Collaboratively design, develop and implement optimised processes, procedures and technologies (in partnership with IT) to enhance efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction.
Collaborating with stakeholders to design and execute process improvement initiatives ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to operations

About You

You’re experienced, steady under pressure and at your best when navigating complexity. You bring experience in finance process improvement, leveraging IT and cross functional teams. You are confident switching between agile and waterfall, depending on what’s required, and you know how to build relationships that support genuine change.

You most likely have:

A relevant degree in finance, accounting, commerce, business, IT or project management, with additional qualifications an advantage
Hands‑on experience improving finance processes and leading transformation projects across areas like month end, reporting, payroll, or shared services
Exposure to ERP environments and an understanding of what sets an implementation up for success
You enjoy bringing people along with you, simplifying the complex and creating structure where it’s needed. Most importantly, you value teams that are open, solutions‑focused and genuinely collaborative.
