About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lawyer/Associate or Senior Associate to join our well-regarded Administrative Law team. Working alongside Partners Mark Henry and Angela Barac, this role will work within a team of high performing lawyers in undertaking merits review for a Commonwealth Government agency.

This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team and assist in the supervision of a high performing practice. Day to day you will have the following responsibilities:

Finalising litigation strategies and statements of issues
Conducting directions hearings and case conferences
Managing substantive hearings
Solicitor advocacy at hearings and finalising briefs to Counsel
Undertaking complex statutory interpretation.

About you

In order to be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

At least 3 - 4+ years post qualification experience, ideally with experience in government advisory work and litigation.
Strong solicitor advocacy experience and expertise.
Experience mentoring team members with excellent communication skills and a collegiate approach.
You may have a background of working in government and be keen to make your first move into a law firm. Alternatively, you will be doing similar work in another firm and looking for a new opportunity.
