Job Description

Helping Hands Bribie Island is seeking an inspiring and motivated OSHC Coordinator to join our growing Helping Hands service. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role where you’ll shape culture, drive quality, and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and your team.

This is a permanent, part-time role (34 hours per week) working across split shifts, Monday to Friday, including 4 hours of dedicated non‑contact administrative time to support your success.

Service hours include:

Rise Then Shine: 6:30am – 9:00am
Stay and Play: 2:30pm – 6:00pm
School Holidays: Block shifts between 6:30am – 6:00pm

About Bribie Island State School

Helping Hands Bribie Island is a small, welcoming service located in its own dedicated room space within the Bribie Island community. The service features a large open-plan indoor environment, complemented by access to extensive outdoor play spaces within Bribie Island State School, providing children with a variety of opportunities for play, exploration, and physical activity. With its smaller size and close-knit community, the service has a warm, family-like atmosphere where children, families, and educators develop strong and meaningful relationships.

The service is proud to be part of a beautiful and supportive community and has established strong partnerships with the local school and families. Rated Meeting the National Quality Standard, the service provides high-quality care and engaging experiences for children. During the school term, the service typically supports between 20–35 children per session, increasing to approximately 30–45 children per session during Vacation Care programs.

About your new role

As a Coordinator, you’ll be leading a team of passionate Educators and overseeing an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership:

Design and lead a vibrant, child‑centred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
Take ownership of rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration, with time allocated to do this well.
Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
Be supported by experienced Regional Managers and a dedicated Support Office so you’re never doing it alone.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 2 Year Qualified Educator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko)
A natural leader who enjoys guiding a team and helping others grow.
Strong communication skills—you’ll be leading by example!
A team player who inspires others and encourages growth.
You have (or are willing to obtain) a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
Australian work rights.
