Primary objective
Provide high quality ICT support and technical services to staff and students to ensure the effective operation of information
technology systems, devices, networks, and educational technology across Maningrida College.
Context statement
Maningrida College is a large remote school located in Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, providing education services from
Early Childhood through to Senior Secondary. The College supports students across the township and surrounding Homeland
Learning Centres and operates within a culturally diverse Aboriginal community.
The ICT Technician plays a critical role in supporting the College's information and communication technology systems to ensure
staff and students have reliable access to technology for teaching, learning, administration, and operational activities. The position
provides technical support across a broad range of ICT infrastructure, including computers, laptops, printers, networking
equipment, audio visual systems, telephones, and educational technologies.
Working within a remote environment, the position requires a high level of initiative, problem solving, and organisational skills to
maintain ICT services, coordinate repairs and equipment replacement, support Departmental ICT systems, and liaise with internal
and external stakeholders. The position contributes to the effective operation of the College by ensuring technology systems
remain functional, secure, and responsive to the needs of staff and students.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide day to day ICT support to staff and students.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, printer, and connectivity issues.
3. Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and peripheral devices.
4. Manage user accounts, passwords, and device access.
5. Maintain ICT asset registers and equipment inventories.
6. Support classroom technology including interactive displays and projectors,
7. Liaise with Departmental ICT support services, contractors, and external providers.
8. Assist with cyber security requirements, software updates, and device compliance.
9. Support Maningrida College activities requiring ICT equipment.
10.Provide ICT advice and basic training to staff as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience providing ICT support and troubleshooting.
2. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, printers, and end user devices.
3. Strong problem solving and organisational skills.
4. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
5. Strong communication and customer service skills.
6. Ability to work effectively within a remote school environment.
7. Demonstrated experience using educational or relevant software to provide solutions for adjusting and building systems and
practices in schools
